TIL something about Cliff Robertson who played Uncle Ben in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films. I wasn't familiar with the history before but apparently he blew the whistle on a scandal at Columbia Pictures and spoke to the press despite being told not to. He got blacklisted for a while after this.
Casting him as Uncle Ben just got a little better for me.
This might be common knowledge to people who grew up in the US but I never heard of this before.
Wonder if that was intentional casting?
