Superman is out July 11, so S2 of Peacemaker will premiere sometime after that, and it’s confirmed to be next year.

It would be at least 3 and half years since the first season ended by the time season 2 is released.
Considering how busy Gunn is and how long the hiatuses are between the seasons maybe they will end the show at Season 2 only. Arcane, Andor and Squid Game also are doing a similar thing.
