According to the PostTrak survey of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice — 25% of the audience went for the actress team of Ortega and Winona Ryder, while 41% bought tickets because it’s a franchise they love, 38% attended because it’s a cast they love, 30% for director Tim Burton, while 27% went for Keaton.

  1. This reminds me that in the survey for Twisters, 24% of the audience went to see Glen Powell specifically.

That JJ Abrams directed movie starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega might be a very big hit. Hopefully we get more news on it soon.

    Jenna Ortega, damn!

Bigger star than I thought, though it shouldn’t be a surprise considering Wednesday’s popularity.

  3. Huh. Something tells me that they just combined the numbers for Ortega and Ryder because that’s such a weird survey question – ‘actress team’ vs Keaton. If so, I would have expected Ortega to have done better especially in such a young and female skewing film.

Meanwhile here I am going “huh, Burn Gorman’s in this, maybe I’ll pop to the cinema for it”

This has definitely made WB even more confused about the failure of The Flash and making Keaton front and centre for it, cause that 27% definitely didn’t go there. Almost like putting him in a film that everyone involved seems to actually want to be in is the key.

    > actress team of Ortega and Winona Ryder

That seems oddly specific in comparison to how Keaton and Burton are separate entries. Like, is it the idea of them playing mother and daughter, or is this the sum of their individual marks?
