Really interesting inside story on how Bob Chapek became CEO, charted Disney’s disastrous course during the pandemic, and ultimately was replaced by his predecessor, the Machiavellian schemer Bob Iger.

Along the way Chapek managed to anger employees (by failing to condemn anti-LGBT laws in Florida), talent (by forcing big movies onto streaming), and Wall Street (by cratering the stock price).

Chapek carries a lot of responsibility, but in the end he was clearly set up as Iger’s fall guy. And it worked.
