THE WILD ROBOT is stunningly animated and infectiously sweet, and while it is largely comprised of DreamWorks animation cliches, it borrows more strengths than weaknesses and soars into your heart, leaving you wanting to hug your mom in the end. #TIFF2024 – @DroxComedy

THE WILD ROBOT is incredible. It starts as a very simple story, and then it continues to evolve by adding new characters, new situations, new dangers. The animation is stunning, but it’s the score from Kris Bowers that soars. You will absolutely feel it in your chest. #TIFF24@Klee_FilmReview

THE WILD ROBOT is gorgeous in animation and story! Full of heart and humor. One of the best animated films I've seen in some time. Stunning in so many ways! #TIFF2024 – @ShadanLarki

The Wild Robot is Spectacular. One of the most gorgeous animated feature films in recent memory. The film is filled to the brim with humor and heart. The message about treating others with kindness is handled beautifully. This is Iron Giant level great. Give it all the awards! #TheWildRobotMovie #TheWildRobot #TIFF24@ScottDMenzel

The painterly animation style of THE WILD ROBOT isn’t the only gorgeous thing about it. Kris Bowers’s majestic score and Lupita Nyong’o’s moving voice performance will leave your heart soaring. The message about acceptance and community resonates deeply. #TIFF24@dancindanonfilm

THE WILD ROBOT: Just lovely. Gorgeous, funny, and moving. Can’t wait to see it’s again with my boys. Full review soon.@Brian_Tallerico

I Saw the Wild Robot, a visually stunning emotional movie, that teaches us how to fly how we want to and not how we are supposed to, a story full of empathy and love, that will resonate with both children and grown ups, what a ride @Dreamworks@WarviN01

#TheWildRobot is phenomenal. STUNNING animation across the board. Every single frame is vibrant and brimming with life. And the painterly animation style so well suits the story/source material. The movie is about a robot who unexpectedly must find her purpose on an island living side by side with the wildlife. The texture of the animation is a heavy contributor to bringing you as close to Roz as possible and sparking the feeling that you’re discovering right alongside her.@PNemiroff

THE WILD ROBOT represents the pinnacle of DreamWorks Animation. A wondrous tale of parenthood, survival & coexistence in our natural living world. With big-hearted storytelling, plenty of laughs, phenomenal voice acting, and a beautifully epic score that captures the grandeur of Chris Sanders’ vision, it’s a crowd-pleasing & emotionally stirring story that not only deserves to win Best Animated Feature but also to be nominated for Best Picture.@NextBestPicture

THE WILD ROBOT lives alongside Wall-E and The Iron Giant in the pantheon of robots too good for us in a striking animated story about belonging. One that’ll make us want to strive to be better than who we are. Chris Sanders, one of the best American storytellers in animation rn.@NextBestPicture

Incredibly sweet, completely adorable, and overflowing with heart, THE WILD ROBOT is another winner from DreamWorks. Stunningly animated with a superb voice cast and a majestic score from Kris Bowers, it's as entertaining as it is heartwarming. #TIFF24 – @itsdougjam

Absolutely adored “The Wild Robot.” Such a beautiful, feel-good family movie. Lupita Nyong’o, Kit Connor and Pedro Pascal are just wonderful. #TIFF24 -@MaxJGao

The Wild Robot: stunning animation, a simple but sweet story, and Kris Bowers doing a better Thomas Newman score than Thomas Newman has done recently all combine for an absolute haymaker of emotion. One of the few films to make me cry in the theater in recent memory@mavericksmovies

THE WILD ROBOT: really taken by this sweet, wholesome animated journey that’s boundlessly energetic and pulls on the heartstrings. Colorful animation, great voice work and a wondrous score by Kris Bowers. #TIFF2024@TheOnlyCritic

If it’s really good as the people are making it out to be, then DreamWorks could take home Best Animated Feature, the first time since Shrek.

  2. Hearing lots of praise for the score as well, wondering if it can get a nomination for best score along with best animated feature. I love me my scores, so hearing that just made me even more hyped for the movie than I already was.

It’s always a massive risk to predict an A+ CinemaScore for a movie that isn’t extremely niche (i.e. a concert film or faith-based film) given how rare they are. An A grade is most likely, I feel, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that this becomes the first DreamWorks film to receive that coveted A+ grade. I will note that, based on the few negative Verified Audience reviews I could find on RT, the main reason *Puss in Boots: The Last Wish* didn’t receive an A+ seems to be that some parents found it too violent, scary or swear-filled for their children. *The Wild Robot* is very unlikely to have those same problems yet it should still have most of the positive qualities of *The Last Wish* (mainly the story and the heart). I’d say it’s 75/25 in favour of A but with a decent chance of an A+ IMO.
