  1. >Destin Daniel Cretton is doing whatever a spider can.

    >The filmmaker behind Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has signed on to direct Spider-Man 4. The move brings an end to speculation of who would spin the web for one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood.

    >Cretton will bring fresh blood to this iteration of Spider-Man, which stars Tom Holland and is a co-production between two separate studios, Sony and Disney-owned Marvel. And it will make him the fourth director to take on a Spidey solo feature. Jon Watts directed the previous three Holland-starring movies, while Marc Webb helmed the two Amazing Spider-Man movies that starred Andrew Garfield. Sam Raimi directed the trilogy that featured Tobey Maguire

Wonder what this means for Shang-Chi 2….

  2. Still so much better than directing **Naruto** under Avi Arad. Cretton NEEDS to get far, Far, FAR away from that blatant has-been.

  3. Lmao Shang Chi 2 ain’t happening. If filming starts early next year the casting should start this fall. Wonder what new characters they will get to surround Holland with.

Let’s hope this isn’t another Multiverse story.. I want a more grounded street level Spidey movie.

Strange choice. Shang-Chi wasn’t that good of a movie. It was kind of boring, actually.

The action sequences will be top tier in the film. It’s not surprising they ended up in-house talent for Spiderman honestly. But good for him, I wonder how far down the road naruto is compared to Spiderman 4

I swear, didn’t he drop out of doing Avengers The Kang Dynasty to focus on Shang-Chi 2?

Seems like kind of a boring choice honestly. Shang Chi was a resounding “meh”. With how big the Spidey IP is, I’d have hoped they’d go for someone with a bit more talent and/or experience.

  8. Also the confirmation of this filming early next year basically confirms that it’ll release July 2026.

So much for “focusing on Shang-Chi 2”, but he’s still a great choice for director!

  10. Great news for Spider-Man, bad news for Shang Chi. I just hope they put him in other projects as a co-lead or supporting character. I loved the first film.
