The ship in Alien: Romulus (2024) is named “Corbelan IV.” The Corbelans are a prominent family in Joseph Conrad’s novel Nostromo, from which the ship in Alien (1979) derives its name. The novel is set in the fictional port of Sulaco, which is also the name of the warship in Aliens (1986).

  1. Additonally, the shuttle Ripley escapes on in Alien is named “Narcissus”, another Joseph Conrad novel. In Alien 3, the ship that lands the Weyland- Yutani team near the film’s climax is named “Patna”, a ship from another Conrad novel, Lord Jim. The ship that transports Amanda Ripley in Alien: Isolation is named “Torrens”, which was a clipper ship Joseph Conrad served on.
