  1. Well, I haven’t read the article yet, but I can tell you that much of the allure comes from how absolutely jaw-dropping Grace Kelly is in this movie. You can’t take your eyes off of her

  2. Here’s a personal addendum to that article:

**Hitchcock’s “Easter Egg” Thematic Tease in** *Rear Window*: **The Never Explained “Other Photographer.”**

Here’s a never explained mystery Hitch added to **Rear Window** to help kick-off and amplify that film’s theme of voyeurism –as well as to subliminally tie-into the career of Stewart’s character, a photographer:

The first time Hitch’s camera shows us the courtyard where most of the film is set, and starts giving us brief vignettes of different neighbors as seen through their rear windows, there’s this odd shot:

The camera, showing us the extent of Stewart’s POV, is panning across the red brick building opposite his own. On the floor a couple of stories above the “murderer’s,” in a window belonging to a character who is never revealed in the movie, there is seen the flash of a camera –which momentarily illuminates this never-explored room. It’s never spoken of or referred to again in the film.

You can see it here, at about the :23-second mark –in the top leftmost window: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I3uo8sd_xBc/watch?v=mQuyQC11yUY

I’ve never met anyone else who’s ever noticed this cool detail.

  3. Because we’re being stressed by watching someone being stressed by watching someone else! It’s never not effective, feel like Hitchcock essentially invented it

  4. I recently watched this in 4k and it was absolutely incredible. It was as if I saw it again for the first time. They did a fantastic job restoring this movie in 4k. The colors, clarity, and film grain are amazing. If you enjoy movies now is a great time to get back into physical media. 4k discs are streets ahead of any streaming service.
