It’s been a long road to the 2024 US Election, but the time to vote is right around the corner! While this is not a political subreddit, we do think it’s important that our US members are informed about their right to vote and where to register to do so if they choose to participate in the official upcoming presidential election on Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.
Early voting has already started in some states, while others will begin in a couple weeks, so we felt it was imperative to share links for you to find out when your state starts their vote, as well as to register to vote and check your voting registration status so you won’t be caught off guard attempting to vote in person on Election Day.

Some states require you to register a month before Election Day, so please make sure to check your registration! Even if you’ve registered to vote, it’s important to check your status as some places have removed people from the voter rolls.
If you live in the United States of America, you have the right to vote and have your voice heard. You also have the right to not vote at all. That’s part of the freedom of living in a democracy. But democracy only works when we the people participate. No matter who you vote for, exercising your right to vote is as American as apple pie: it should be savored as often as possible, and tastes quite delicious with vanilla ice cream.
With that being said, we’ll be leaving this thread unlocked so you can share any celeb endorsements here you’d like to discuss. We do expect everyone to remain civil and we will be banning anyone who can’t follow the rules, no exceptions. Please be respectful! This is not content we usually allow, but the presidential election is only once every four years and we want you all to have a space to discuss the crossover of politics and pop culture. Examples of content allowed in this thread:
- Social media posts of celeb endorsements (screenshots of Instagram, X etc.)
- Links to celebs in the news regarding political comments & endorsements
- Links about artists responding to their music being used by politicians
- Upcoming movies or shows about the candidates
- Links to political ads featuring celebrities
- News about fandoms supporting candidates
Examples of content NOT allowed in this thread:
- General political links with no pop culture crossover
- General election ads
- Bigoted memes meant to cause harm to marginalized communities and voters
- Random daily election polls
- Any content that would otherwise be posted in political subreddits
- Social media posts by non-celebs
This thread will be strictly moderated to ensure personal and political attacks are shutdown immediately. We’d like to keep this unlocked, so please help keep our community safe for all by reporting rule breaking comments! Luckily, several of our childless cat mods have agreed to moderate this thread. Between reading their stacks of banned books and cooking for one, if anyone has time today, it’s them. Now go vote!
