  1. Woah! I expected this film’s budget to be big given ILM’s involvement, but…

“THAT big?!” – Meilin Lee, **Turning Red** (2022)

  2. This is the most expensive Paramount animated movie of all time (not including their DreamWorks Animation releases of course) so it would need to be one of if not THE highest grossing animated film from them to be profitable (and the toy sales would need to be amazing like last year’s TMNT and PAW Patrol movies).

  3. Now it needs to make $367.5M alone to breakeven.

    Great.

    Yeah, that’s just great.

Now the future of Transformers being animated or in live-action hinges on this movie.

Kind of debatable if it’ll break even especially with Wild Robot coming next week but it’s way too expensive even with stellar reviews

So! Given that tracking a month ago had this movie opening to $40-50M, how do we feel about its chances?

It’s taking a lot of Beetlejuice’s screens in LA which is wild to me, why cut off the third weekend of a hit

  7. Oh…that’s not encouraging. I thought it would be a flat 100 mill or something. Well the movie looks gorgeous at least but that’s more pressure on it. Hopefully it performs close to Rise of th Beasts.

  8. Yea this is gonna be a flop

Aint no way its making 400M to break even maybe the merch will close the gap like TMNT

WTF? That’s the most expensive non Disney/Pixar animated film since How to Train Your Dragon The Hidden World in 2019 or which had a budget of $129M prior to Universal lowing its budget for Dreamworks Films compared to Illumination or Spider Man Across The Spider Verse from Sony last year which was reported to be $150M due to the employees complaining of working conditions that they’ve worked on for so many years to make this animated movie without pay (plus if you don’t included Space Jam A New Legacy which had a budget of $150M due to the film from Warner Animation Group being Live Action and 2D Animation with Additional CGI of the Looney Tunes and the entire Warner Bros Characters more then 3 years ago)
