Haven’t watched the show, and I know next to nothing about the Menendez brothers, but that was thoughtful and extremely well written.

  2. We’re going to have the same conversations about the ethics of true crime content that covers the lives of currently living people every time a new ‘Monster’ series comes out

Making the general public think two brothers in prison were incestual lovers is fucking hilarious.

I can see why they *might* be upset about that.

  4. Let me guess, the brothers are wildly sexualised, given highly homoerotic scenes, and implied to have deviant sexual appetites?

I haven’t seen the show, but I do know Ryan Murphy.

  5. Well of course some degenerate Hollywood producer would twist a horrific story about abuse and murder into some gay incestual relationship.

  6. i know they’re in prison for murder. And he is right. Fuck Ryan Murphy and this sensationalist, romanticized bullshit. It’s all straight up bad for our culture

The ending credits just mentioned that they still use ‘abuse’ as the main reason and that they are still in prison.

Nothing about the letter that was found after Andy’s death of Erik telling him how scared he was of his dad and that he was still getting raped and molested 4 months before the murders.

Nothing about Roy from Menudo coming out about Jose raping and molesting him when he was 14 years old.

Nothing about how the boys are finally back together after 22 years of separation.

    Absolutely nothing at all.

But hey, at least we got a made up ending of Jose being a “good husband” to Kitty on the boat!

    Wtf are we doing here?

    What a let down.

  8. Didn’t Murphy make a tv show about Andrew cunanan that was filled with straight up lies that had been long dismissed

  9. Here’s the corroborating evidence of all the sexual abuse Ryan Murphy’s show left out if anyone wants to understand why Erik is upset.

I would also recommend that people watch the actual courtroom footage on CourtTV where all the actual evidence and testimony was presented and cross-examined for truth instead of this total lie of a show. The portrayals of the brothers’ personalities on this show is so far removed from what everyone testified to, both prosecution and defense witnesses.

This case is about years of the horrific and brutal torture of two boys for decades and the violence that resulted from it. Ryan Murphy made this into a cheap tabloid fictional narrative about two incestuous sociopathic brothers.

F**k Ryan Murphy! There’s clearly evidence that the brothers were abused. The parents were the monsters! This makes me sad bc I thought their story was finally going to be told 😩!

  11. Ryan Murphy will take any historical event and push it to the gayest depths imaginable. I say that with all due respect.

The image alone on Netflix might be the gayest image I’ve seen in a while.

My question to Erik……have you seen any of American horror story!? Ryan is VERY good at fucking shows up.

  13. Someone needs to make a show satirizing Ryan Murphy. Just a morally bankrupt Hollywood writer/exec producer that is going through a list of serial killers on Wikipedia thinking to himself “how can I make this sexy?”.

  14. “I believe Ryan Murphy cannot be this naive…”

Well, that’s where you’re wrong. That’s exactly what I expect.

Ryan Murphy takes that “creative license” excuse to an extreme in all of his work. Whenever I watch any of his series (which always includes me fast forwarding through the empty content/filler), I go in knowing that any of his works depicting real people will be wildly inaccurate. For that reason, I never take the depictions seriously. In my mind, they’re just pure fiction.

Using real life stories of infamous people (i.e., Jeffrey Dahmer, dude that killed Gianni Versace, OJ Simpson, Rock Hudson, Truman Capote, etc etc) is a cop-out to avoid having to create original and creative work, and for him to make statements against Hollywood’s status-quo. However, the sexual tension between the Menendez brothers and alluding to them being lovers…just disgusting and really really bad writing. Part of me thinks Ryan did that just to make certain audiences feel uncomfortable. As a matter of fact, I think that drives a lot of how he tells a story – what will make the viewer uncomfortable and what does that say about the viewer feeling uncomfortable? It’s like he’s trying to make people face their own prejudices with his style of storytelling. BUT…..I still watch his work because his film quality and production value is always excellent. Stylistically, his work is a feast for the eyes – great cinematography, the set designs and costumes are so well done, great music soundtracks, and (as a child of the early 80s) he hits my nostalgia like buttons.

I usually like Ryan Murphy shows, but this one pushed me too far. I tried to give it the benefit of the the doubt after the trailer and turned on episode 1, but couldn’t finish it. This one is just too twisted — and Ryan Murphy and Netflix should have known better.

how gross to take a real tragic story and turn it into your weird incest fan fiction. I wouldn’t expect anything more from Ryan Murphy but still that’s fucked up.

lets face it ryan murphy has a serial killer fetish and could care less about the victims of these crimes or being accurate. The John Wayne Gacy seasons going to be vile.

  19. I need people to come to terms with what a hack writer Ryan Murphy is already because I feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills since 2010.

  20. Why do people who hate Ryan Murphy keep on watching Ryan Murphy produced shows
If you don’t like him and his productions, stop watching them

  21. It’s interesting that many people here don’t know the ins and outs of this story.

The brothers claimed to be sexually abused. Over the few documentaries I’ve watched and through what I’ve read, the jury is out on the intensity of it. The line of what is fact, and what is fiction can never truly be known.

That’s what makes this story so gripping. It poses 2 questions, were the boys abused/to what extent and did the parents deserve it? Everyone who has knowledge of this case has a different opinion on those two fundamental questions.

Few people realize their first trial resulted in a hung jury. Answering those two questions in a case like this is so divisive it interests me. Any case where 12 people can’t all agree on any one set of facts and consequences is enticing to read about. I think it is a miscarriage of justice that when the state appealed, the judge presiding over the case did not allow any mention of the alleged abuse.

As a result, these boys were found guilty.

I feel they should be in jail. They threatened to kill their therapist so he wouldn’t tell anyone what happened. But that’s a few years tops. They should be out now imo.
