In case you didn’t know, the film #Whiplash has been re-released in cinemas this wknd (nearly 700 US locations!) celebrating its 10th anniversary. It’s um, not taking in too much cash. The 2014 film was nominated for 5 Oscars (incl Best Picture) and won 3.

Whiplash did well 10 years ago but it was good for an independent movie. 13M domestic.
Audiences grow over time for sure, especially with this being best known for JK Simmons’ role but not every movie, especially the small ones, can land notable re-release attention
So… how much did it make? Didn’t expect it to do a ton, but I’m sure it doesn’t help that it’s only a $5 Fan Fave that got re-released on the same weekend that Babadook, three Batman films, and a few Hispanic Heritage Month films were all also re-released.
