It’s gonna really have to rely on its WOM now to make its $75M budget back in America and triple its OW numbers.
I wonder if the marketing and too many preview screenings hurt this movie’s OW

Such a shame really. A fantastic movie.

1. Transformers is oddly enough a grown up brand. Little kids don’t care about it and it shows in the demos.
2. The trailers looked childish, alienating the adults who went to go see all the other films in the franchise.
The opening weekend isn’t everything for a family movie, hopefully it does well over the weeks that follow.

Im convinced chris hemsworth is box office poison. Even with good reviews(furiosa, this) , the movie flops

Looks like we won’t be getting a Transformers Two

It’s Storks all over again (another better than expected September animated film that opened lower than expected)

The trailer looks so so bad that I can’t believe it’s a good movie

The animation style killed this. It looks like a cheap knockoff on YouTube.

Such a big bummer. :/

Good God. Hope overseas makes up the difference, otherwise, they’re fucked.

This is pretty bad. 2nd worst debut of the franchise but Bumblebee which is the worst came out for Christmas and had legs. It’s unlikely this will have those same kind of legs. Even though with good WOM it’s unlikely to leg out with The Wild Robot next week then Joker 2 right after that. I say it will end its run between 65-75M

Do any of you think the film should’ve opened in August when not as many kids were back in school or during the Labor Day weekend?

That’s disappointing given the budget of $75M which is going to be though which opens against The Wild Robot this Friday which is tracking to around $35M-$40M
