As the MCU returns to form its crown will likely never be tipped and I believe the following will become the top 3-5 of this list in the next ten years.
1) MCU – Set to potentially make a boatload of money in the next 3 years if their plans play out well
2) Spider-Man – Hand in hand with Mcu and the animated venture still has a film to come out
3) x-men – The next mcu saga is rumoured to be the mutant saga so this is likely to rise exponentially
4)Star wars – If they start putting out movies again there is a hope!
5) Avatar – At an average of 2.5bn per film with 5 films should reach top 5 unless the DCU tops it but that’d be dependent on how each franchise performs

It’s really mind boggling that the MCU became the highest grossing film franchise by a factor of 3 , and it only came to exist 16 years ago.
The gap between the 1st and 2nd place is so Big that even if the MCU stopped today it will take 10+ years for anyone to reach that height
I’m honestly wondering if it’s possible for next Star Wars films to flop badly. I’m very curious to see if angry Star Wars fanboys still watch the upcoming films.But you’re pretty much right on the list, but wouldn’t mcu X-men films just fall under mcu not Fox X-men franchise.
Additionally DCEU/DC being in 8th place is still sad as a DC fan because character and brand itself has so much potential so much. In my opinion it has some of best comic book characters, WB hasn’t even touched the surface of film potential of New Gods,Green Arrow,The Question,and other characters
