  1. I hope people are kind to her, it’s obvious that she’s struggling.

On another note, I wasn’t able to get tickets and I’m much less sad about that now lol

  2. I feel terrible for her and I hope she takes the space she needs. The outrage cycle is ruthless and unfair.

  3. She needs a long break. This sudden meteoric rise to stardom is too much for anyone to handle. It’s important to remember that Chappell has been around for ages (Pink Pony Club came out 4 years ago in 2020). She never expected this level of rapid and extreme popularity in her wildest dreams. I can’t even imagine how overwhelmed she is right now dealing with it all.

  4. I really hope she is able to disconnect from social media and focus on her mental health. It’s clear that she’s been struggling with the sudden success and therefore, the increased fame and all that has come along with it. I’m sure the recent weeks has made it all the more worse for her.

I also hope that her team behind her advises and manages her better going forward.

  5. this poor woman has been absolutely wrung out by the press and public over the past few weeks and it’s been crazy to watch. she was so loved before folk decided to chew her up and spit her out for way less than some other celebrities easily get away with. any excuse to drag a queer woman istg

  6. I truly don’t see how even her die hard fans – many of whom pontificated that what she was doing was ‘*refreshing*’ – can say she **shouldn’t** stay off the internet. Full stop. It’s not for you, combined with your new life and, don’t worry, it’s not for most.

  7. Glad she’s prioritizing her mental health. The online discourse about her views on Kamala probably hasn’t helped.

I hope she’ll be okay, I can’t imagine how what’s happened to her recently is effecting her mental health and she’s probably getting threats on top of that. I’m glad she’s putting herself first and not trying to push through it.

I saw a post about this and didn’t realise it was actually the Chapel Roan sub as a suggested post, and holy shit some of the comments in there are wild.

I have a horrible feeling she’s going to go down in history as a cautionary tale of how a meteoric rise to fame in this day and age can absolutely fuck people over.

  10. To all the folks mad at her for this: Think about the artists who kill themselves on purpose – shit, or by accident, using harder and harder drugs to cope with the stress and pressure. We want her alive more than we want her on a stage performing for anyone’s benefit.

How much would any of us give to be able to return linkin park albums if it means Chester was alive again? Kurt Cobain? Whitney Houston? Amy Winehouse, Avicii, Mac Miller, Heath Ledger.

I know it sucks to lose an opportunity or event you were so excited for. But please try to take a moment to frame it for what it is, a performance. Most folks can get refunds. And we want her alive more than we want her on stage.

She needs a break, but I know a lot of people that bought tickets for the ATG festival specifically for her that are disappointed and pissed. Part of me thinks she should have still just banged out the performances she’s signed on to do, and cancel any further out shows and rest. Hope she’s ok, but if I was in the position as some of my friends this would be a bad taste in my mouth for a while

  12. She needs a PR agency like yesterday for her own sake! It’s clear she’s drinking out of the firehose that is fame, and can’t do this on herself anymore.
