62.2% drop ouch at least it isn’t the worst of the franchise it’s better than both Age of Extinction and Rise of the Beasts. But for an animated movie targeted towards kids it’s a disastrous drop

Another failure for Hemsworth and Scarlett.

Unfortunately it’s done. Worst animated drop since Lightyear.
Transformers needs to get back to the scale/blockbuster mayhem of Bayformers without Michael Bay himself. Get a director who can handle destruction/VFX heavy action movies like Justin Lin, James Wan, Zack Snyder, David Leitch etc and pair them with a good writer.

Both new animated films released a week apart have excellent reception, but The Wild Robot is clearly eating Transformers’ lunch.

Thats bad. I thought it could ease 50% but its all over Transformer bros.

So it’s another DnD: Honor Among Thieves situation. A loved movie that flops because Paramount’s stupid and released it close to one of the most hyped movies of the year..
Hopefully international releases, toy sales, and streaming help it out. It was a legitimately well written movie made with love and it’s a shame that it’s not doing too well because it’s not Fast & Furious style slop.

This movie is flopping because it is boring, not because it is badly marketed. See The Wild Robot instead.

I’ve said it before, this franchise needs a break. It’s been too wishy washy about a clean reboot, and One’s marketing was ass. You either reboot from scratch with this format or go into full Bayhem from scratch. No more half measures with half baked continuity. Why should we care about a GI Joe crossover when we have no idea what’s going on with the main franchise?
It’s not like the franchise needs to beat a ton of giant robot movies to the box office. As it stands the only one on the docket is Amazon MGM’s Voltron. There’s no rush to get another one out there.
