That would actually be a great opening if this had the same budget as the first one ($55-70 million) and WOM was going to be good so it would have legs. But it costs almost $200 million and WOM from the audience will likely be toxic.

the sequel that no one wanted. the first one stood solidly on its own. I didn’t need a sequel when I left the theatre. It was such a powerful movie with a perfect period ending.

Not too long ago, this movie has been my most anticipated release of the year. It’s a sequel to the first ever R-rated billion dollar grosser, co-starring a well known pop provocateur for the role of Harley Quinn. The trailers looked great as well. And then the reviews came in. What a letdown.
