Unfortunately, kitty and red were the only parts that worked in this show. It felt like a Nickelodeon show with more drug and sex themes.

  2. Any amount I cared about this show died when most of the cast were character witnesses for a serial rapist.

  3. I’m a big fan of That 70’s Show and love Red and Kitty Foreman. But That 90’s Show just didn’t do it for me.

I think season two was a big step in the right direction, but it just didn’t quite come together the way I’d hoped.

I think Smith and Rupp were terrific, and I am really glad Rupp got so much to do in these episodes. Kitty was reduced to an “I’m an alcoholic” punchline in the last few years of the parents series, and here she had better jokes and moments.

I really wanted to like the show, but it just didn’t have that spark.

Like the writing to show could have been 1:1 to the original, and just wouldn’t have worked.

    1. The cast was basically young actors imitating the original cast. I think it was hard to watch the show and not think… “Oh, this is the Eric of the group. This is the Hyde. Kelso(s), Fez, Jackie.”
    2. I won’t be surprised if we never see these young actors again in a major role. (Maybe, but I won’t be surprised if it doesn’t happen). With the original cast, they made the show. They struck gold with the original cast and you knew some of them were going places.

But I was still rooting for it. There was something comforting about being in Red and Kitty’s home again. Even though it was a kid focuses show, I still found it relatable. Red and Kitty still remind me of my parents at the current age, like they did with That 70’s Show 25 years ago.
