  1. Well there goes what might have been Joker 2’s one saving grace this weekend, terrible numbers no matter how you swing it, even the first film’s internal holds barely get it over £7m. Opening weekend will likely be ~£6m, but based on WOM everywhere else I’d take the under on that figure.

Solid hold for Beetlejuice after its 4-week run at number one though, still looking good to pass Dumbo to become Burton’s third highest-grossing film here. It’s also now up to 6th place in the 2024 rankings, passing It Ends With Us, and will take 5th place by the end of today dethroning Kung Fu Panda 4.

Speak No Evil holds 43%, continuing what has been a nice over-performance the last couple weeks. Meanwhile, The Substance remains as young and fresh as it was two weeks ago, easing only 15%. A nice drop for The Outrun as well with 23%. Not so much good news for Megalopolis though, crashing 80% in weekend 2, proving that Rome wasn’t built in a day but it can be destroyed in one.

Very weak start for the other newcomer, A Different Man. Not really sure what the strategy was going directly up against Joker, I’ve seen zero promotion and didn’t even realise it was going wide here until a few days ago.
