UK-Ireland box office up year-on-year in September; Q4 slate gives cause for optimism — A decent September saw the UK-Ireland box office reduce its year-on-year deficit from -15% at the start of August 2024, to -10% by the end of September.

  1. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the deficit cleared by the end of November. The Autumn 2024 box office is just objectively stronger compared to the same timeframe last year when not a single release cleared £20m. Wonka was the only film to get past £20m by the end of the year.

We should see at least another 5 releases clear that mark by year’s end, even a failing Joker is gonna make as much as a FNAF or an Eras from the same time last year.
