This show was so meta that even the intro credits were a joke It's Garry Shandling's Show – Theme Song (youtube.com) The show aired on Showtime but FOX also picked it up for re runs. It was a one funny show, it shot in front of a studio audience and sometimes during the show Gary would get into this little car and would drive between sets. Sometimes the actors would go into the audience for scenes. It could be a real bonkers and unpredictable show at times. It's hard to remember most of the plots to episodes or characters haven't really seen it in years but a few things I remember well and can still sing the theme song

Didn’t discover this until it was on, was it Lifetime? In reruns. Outstanding show.

This is the theme to Gary’s showing, the opening theme to Gary’s show…

  2. The show was the first time I had seen Paul Feig. He played the brother of one of Garry’s girlfriend. And each time I think of sitcom tropes about being locked in a storage freezer, I think of the show and how well it lampooned that gimmick.

  3. Certainly ahead of it’s time in comedy.  Go for it’s unofficial sequel the Larry Sanders Show.  That’s a great one that I feel truly was the best in it’s era.  Name a comedian in that time period, he or she was probably on there.
