How is this higher than what was expected yesterday? I thought it was going for 70M or so. Maybe WBD cooked the books on this number too. They’re like 70M rounds up to 75M which rounds up to 80M which rounds up to 81.1M

I had a feeling i would be wrong with this Joker 2 prediction but i never would’ve thought that predicted too high instead of too low.
Sadly for us Schadenfreude enjoyers, it looks like Europe is gonna save this from being a total disaster for Warner. Still, what a fuckin’ *drop.* I can’t see it staying in domestic theaters long.

That’s not bad considering the hazardous WoM

the weird thing about the first Joker is that it kind of under indexed domestically and made a whopping 700M overseas which is insane for a movie about a villain from a franchise that used to make less overseas than domestic. It even broke out in Japan.

Europe and Asia (specifically Japan) are going to drag this movie kicking and screaming to 210-225 million

Literally the only silver lining this weekend is it opened better internationally then expected.

That’s compared to The Marvels and The Flash global opening between $110M and $130M

I’m convinced that 80% of the bad word of mouth this movie is generating has to do with it delivering what is unarguably the most downer ending in a genre that normally doesn’t have them.

Welp, it looks like Europe will save this movie from being as big of a disaster as it could have been and grossing less than $200 million dollars worldwide.
