Of films opening ~35mil, Wild Robot is performing near the bottom of that group legs-wise, (numbers.com), dropping 48% this weekend. Why isn’t the amazing WOM of this family kids film pulling this movie up? Both Hotel Transylvania films were September releases and both dropped ~35%.

Dreamworks is not a draw like Disney, Pixar, or the Minions are. Despite being based on a book and getting critical acclaim, it won’t make much more than Wish and maybe Migration worldwide, and it won’t come close to Elemental.

It’ll take time, I think Joker might’ve claimed IMAX screens this weekend??? So it did some damage, but otherwise I’m sure it will start having smaller drops next week and onwards

Remember that Joker took most if not all premium screens from Wild Robot this weekend. Legs should be more stable from this point on.

I heard the film gets quit dark and serious. Maybe parents who only want animation to be comedic brainrot are avoiding it.

… because Hotel Transylvania are Halloween movies? And the closer it gets to Halloween, the better legs it has?

It had PLFs and IMAX screens for one week after moving from its September 20th release date to avoid competition against Transformers One which had PLFs and IMAX screens for one week just before Joker Folie Á Deux took over the IMAX and PLFs screens

Also, it opened in September which means that kids are still at schools while the first two Hotel Transylvania films were released in September because they were both Halloween films about the monsters referenced to the Universal Monster Classics from the 1930s which they both hold well on the weekends on how good did they enjoyed before facing against Wreak It Ralph and The Peanuts Movie in November of 2012 and 2015

Hopefully it can hold well during the weekends which their aren’t any family competition till Moana 2 in Late November during the Thanksgiving Holiday

  8. A shipwrecked cartoon robot doesn’t have the popular appeal some were hoping for. If anything it’s likely overperforming right now due to transformers sucking.
