Never in my life did I think I would ever agree with Simu Liu on anything. The way they spoke about how people are unsure of what is in boba or that it is no longer ethnically Asian is so insane to me. The microaggressions in this video are infuriating and the misinformation they stated gave off MSG vibes.
As a Mexican I feel the exact same way as Simu does when non Latines start tequila brands. It’s culturally dismissive and offensive to say you are making something better than the creators, they are not revolutionizing anything when there are Asian brands who have already created ready to go alcoholic boba. They are not the first, step in a Asian market and they are right there in the coolers.
