  1. Here is your template for the rest of existence: – insert move – beats Joker 2 in – insert positive metric – this – insert timeframe –

It may not have taken back number one this weekend domestically, but at least the robot beat the fake clown overseas!

Does anyone think Joker 2 will make less than the Marvels or only slightly more?

  4. Even the trades are having fun with this.

Wild Robot is absolutely deserving to be at the top this weekend, at least OS wis. Such a beautiful animation.

Joker’s fall wouldn’t sting the filmmakers and the studio so much if the film didn’t come in with a 200 mil. price tag. For what we see on the screen, that budget is inexcusable really. And that’s just a production budget, considering how heavy the marketing was on this one, you can guess the marketing budget must’ve been north of 100 mil. too, maybe 150 mil. So overall the movie cost at least 300-350 mil. and it’s barely going to make 200 mil.

That’s a complete bomb and yet another proof comic-book movies are no longer bullet-proof, quite the opposite. If you want a huge 1 billion dollar hit, you need shit like Deadpool x Wolverine, which is a crossover of two big and popular franchises with tons of cameos and A plus level production values.

We’ll see how Venom does, if it does well, I wouldn’t be surprised for Sony to do a Spider-Man/Venom cross-over as that makes complete sense.
