Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Pulp Fiction’ was released in theaters 30 years ago today, starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson & Uma Thurman.
The film first premiered at the 47th Cannes Film Festival where it went on to win the prestigious Palme d’Or. At the 67th Academy Awards, Quentin Tarantino & Roger Avary were given the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Oh man, I remember being absolutely befuddled by the casting of Travolta and, to a lesser extent, Willis. Now, I can’t imagine anyone else. I mean, Henry Winkler was considered for Vincent.

Too many film bros were created because of this movie

I really liked the Travolta and Jackson parts, did not enjoy the Willis parts. I think it’s almost the comedy counterpart to Reservoir Dogs’s ‘No honor among thieves’ tragedy. That said I once saw a terrible, shock-value slam poet who called himself Vincent Vega, and my friend and I were like…didn’t he realize that that character was actually an uncool screw-up in the movie?

In my opinion, Tarantino’s best movie, and my favourite movie of 1994
