  1. Nori trying to claim the relationship was consensual when Deryck was 16 and Nori was in his 30s is certainly a choice. Whether it can be considered “legal” (based upon age of consent nonsense which I’m sure Nori will use) doesn’t make it moral nor does it make it consensual given the power dynamics and the age gap and the mentor role. All of that combined makes it a clear case of grooming.

    I’m so glad Deryck has spoken out and it’s heartbreaking that he has to defend himself. You can hear the pain in his voice when he’s talking about it.

    But when he says they should take it in front of a judge/trial/under oath, is he threatening to sue him? I wasn’t too clear on that.
