Stunned at the hate bandwagon against this movie. I don’t even like the original Gladiator all that much but am still very excited to watch this just because it looks like a fun theatre experience. Everybody needs to relax about these kinds of movies.

I hope the story is really good. Aside from knowing that Lucius returns as an adult to reclaim his heritage and live up to his father Maximus’ legacy (BTW, is it just me, or was Maximus being Lucius’ real father a new thing, because I definitely don’t think it was mentioned in the first movie), I don’t know much about what the story is going to be. Washington’s character is up to some machinations to gain power, there is some other evil looking ruler involved, and Pascal plays some sort of heroic character (I think), but not sure how that relates to Lucius’s story. Hopefully, it will all come together in a really amazing way.
