– ThatWaluigiDude (A Quiet Place Day One: $0.28M USD T-1 Comp. Pre-sales finished very similar to Bad Boys 4. Until the day is over it should increase the difference, for the franchise it is pretty damn good. The first movie opened with $1.04M USD and made $4.18M USD total and the second opened with $0.65M USD and made $1.91M USD total. Quite likely Day One will have the best opening of the franchise and the best opening for horrors this year **(June 26)**. On saturday Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is back once more after the massive success from the last re-release. And yes, pre-sales are extremely full just like the first time. Adding to A Quiet Place also selling decently on pre-sales, it looks like the drough of Brazil’s box office is over for now **(June 24)**. After the massive success, Prisoner of Azkaban will be back for one more day on the 29th. Pre sales starting on 21th **(June 11)**. Now Cinepolis have joined the party and from today to june 5th will also be offering discounted tickets. Now two big chains in Brazil will be cheaper. Difference is, with Cinepolis the promotion will work during the weekend and on premium screens, and some select theaters will go even cheaper with tickets priced at R$8 (May 31). Cinemark will be holding a discount, starting on the 27th, where tickets go down to R$12 and food combos go down in price too. Cinemark is currently the biggest chain in Brazil, though is not in every single city, obviously. It will go all the way until june 19th, excluding only fridays, saturdays and sundays and the next holiday on the 30th. It’s a bit shocking because that means the release day of all movies for 4 weeks will be discounted on Cinemark, including possible previews of Inside Out 2 (May 27).)
– ThatWaluigiDude (Despicable Me 4 have been gained some steam on the pre-sales, now around 1/3 of what Garfield had its final day. It will be very interesting to see how IO2 and DM4 will behave competing with each other **(June 27)**. By the way, Despicable Me 4 started the pre-sales a couple of days ago. So far is a bit bellow Garfield on the same period, surprisingly slow but most likely the release of Inside Out 2 distracted. I haven’t seen the pre-release being advertized much **(June 21)**.)

– (Inside Out 2 is supposedly releasing on August 1st in Japan. That’s a Thursday. They may be they doing that to take advantage of discounted tickets that happen on the first of the month. I think ¥5B is stressful. ¥4B is reasonable and ¥3B~¥3.5B likely Looking Competition – Inside Out opens 1 week ahead of Shin Chan — straight direct competition for screens against My Hero Academia 4 (Last Movie did ¥3.39B) **(June 19)**.)

– Carlangonz (A Quiet Place Day One: Business went quite depressed because there were electrical storms across the country for the entire afternoon/night which are likely to go on for another week. Day One is looking at around $3.27M USD **(June 28)**. FWIW is ahead of The Marvels and Indiana Jones. Considering horror is pretty walk-up friendly, I think it can challenge $3.24M USD – $3.78M with a high ATP as it seems to skew big cities **(June 26)**.)
– Carlangonz (Despicable Me 4: $2.36M USD opening day comp. Bit of a timid increase compared to comps but still within their range. This doesn’t have the same effect on adults as Disney/Pixar titles so perhaps won’t ramp up until the final two days. Let’s see on Monday if the weekend gives it any boost **(June 29)**. Very promising at the moment. Should at least open on par with both Minions and above Despicable Me 3 set for a potential $16.20M USD start and the best of the franchise. Important to notice seats available as of this moment is a higher tally than that of Inside Out 2 so Universal may be preparing Illumination for their first 5,000+ screens start as Mario and previous Gru installments opened to *just* 4k-4.5k. However, taking such number of screens will directly impact negatively on Inside Out 2 and remaining holdovers would be basically wiped out. Maxxxine is opening on July 4th too but not expecting it to go wide **(June 26)**.)

– thajdikt (Deadpool and Wolverine has just started ticket sales and it´s getting a lot of screens. More than Doctor Strange did intially and on par with NWH. It´s also running from 10AM to 22PM in the IMAX which is quite unusual for them to set up unless the demand forces them. They are expecting a monster here. I´m not so sure. Let´s see how sales are **(June 17)**.)
