IO2 will pass the £30m mark today, making it only the second 2024 release to do so far. In comparison to fellow Pixar sequels, *Toy Story 3* made £4.7m, *Incredibles 2* stood at £5.1m whilst *Toy Story 4*’s third weekend was £5.5m, a figure that IO2 stands a strong chance to beat and claim the highest third weekend for any Pixar release.
At the same time, it will still be trailing all those films by different amounts by the end of Sunday. I2 is currently the closest at £33m and it will continue to slowly but surely pull away since it begins to benefit from Summer holiday weekdays at this point. £50m+ final finish still looking good though based on TS4’s run from this point onwards (the only other Pixar sequel to open in roughly the same spot in the calendar) since it added another £30m despite The Lion King bowing on Weekend #5.
