For me, [this](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0256237/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk) guy is a pretty good choice. As soon as he appears you know its a decent script and acting won’t be a let down. He can be pretty safe bet.

It links to Michael Emerson’s IMDB page, for anyone else frustrated by OP somehow managing to not use his name three times in three brief but complimentary sentences lol.

Giancarlo Esposito. He plays pretty much the same guy every time I’ve seen him, but he does it so well.

    Also Anthony Carrigan.

Christopher Heyerdahl has pretty much been the go-to guy for television horror monsters and scifi aliens for a few decades now.
I always know it’s gonna be good when I see his name on the opening credits.
Honorable mention for Hell on Wheels.

Ian McShane. Dude brought the goods in GoT even in his small part.

  6. Gary Cole always kills it.

Whether if it was *Veep*, *The West Wing*, *Harvey Birdman*, *The Good Wife*, *Entourage*, *Suits*, *Bob’s Burgers*, etc., the guy never disappoints and makes everything look better.

Stephen Root, Michael Shannon. John Goodman too, but on TV it’s mostly The Conners.

He (Michael Emerson) currently voices Brainiac on My Adventures with Superman. He’s excellent

  9. Neal McDonough. he’s been in some pretty bad things but those things would be worse if not for him. His performances in everything always lifts up whatever he’s in.

Richard Kind. I don’t think I’ve ever once minded seeing him on screen.
