Forrest Gump was released 30 years ago this week. The Robert Zemeckis directed film grossed $330.4 million domestically and $678.2 million worldwide including rereleases and was the second highest grossing film of 1994. The film won 6 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Actor for Tom Hanks.

Did this deserve Best Picture Oscar win? Well… that depends on who you ask. I, for one, DO think that this is a great film, but I actually think that **The Lion King** should’ve at least been nominated.
