  1. For some inexplicable reasons, Germans *loved* Ice Age movies. Dawn of the Dinosaurs grossed $82 million in Germany, by far the biggest market outside North America.

This series really should’ve stopped here because since then, the series went downhill with **Collision Course** starting a butterfly effect that would eventually lead to Blue Sky going out of business.

I forget how huge these were sometimes. I watched the first 2 in theaters when I was a kid but I was aged out when this one came out, I was in high school at that point. I have no idea if this thing is any good.

One of my biggest comfort movies of all time. Just gave it my yearly rewatch for its anniversary last night. Buck is an absolute legend.

If my memory serves correctly this movie was released on the very week this Subreddit was created and also had the highest opening weekend for any animated movie at the time! It also just recently got beat out by Oppenheimer as the highest grossing Hollywood movie to never reach #1 Domestically.

Hard to believe this shit’s 15 years old now. Time flies. As one of the few weirdos who would genuinely consider this one of their favorite movies, they absolutely should’ve stopped after this one. The oversaturation of the franchise after this movie’s success really killed its perception in the public’s conscience in the long-run. In a world where we haven’t gotten an Ice Age movie since 2009 I could absolutely see a legacy sequel being decently successful in the modern-day.

  5. The last decent Ice Age film imo. The next two are some of the worst animated movies ever made by a major studio imo.

Absolutely crazy high numbers in Europe. Made $469.9M there with 54.2M admissions. Easily the highest grossing animated movie ever in Europe and the most watched animated movie there this century.
