– Charlie Jatinder (Deadpool & Wolverine: Quantumania did A$1.07M on WED, this would suggest A$3.5M+ for DP&W, but let’s say A$2.5M+. THU comp be A$2.4M, FRI be A$6M+ and SAT be A$10M. That’s all over the place. Not as helpful as I thought it would be. Also, Event sales were estimated by removing blocked seats, so not exact sales data either but just for an idea, sales are around 3-4x of Quantumania **(July 5)**. Started HOYTS T-64 tracking. No comps but feels like good start (May 21).)

– ThatWaluigiDude (Now Cinepolis have joined the party and from today to june 5th will also be offering discounted tickets. Now two big chains in Brazil will be cheaper. Difference is, with Cinepolis the promotion will work during the weekend and on premium screens, and some select theaters will go even cheaper with tickets priced at R$8 (May 31). Cinemark will be holding a discount, starting on the 27th, where tickets go down to R$12 and food combos go down in price too. Cinemark is currently the biggest chain in Brazil, though is not in every single city, obviously. It will go all the way until june 19th, excluding only fridays, saturdays and sundays and the next holiday on the 30th. It’s a bit shocking because that means the release day of all movies for 4 weeks will be discounted on Cinemark, including possible previews of Inside Out 2 (May 27).)
– divesyn (Deadpool presales officially starts at midnight. First deadpool movie to receive 18+ rating in brazil. 16-17 year olds only legally allowed with parent permission. There are rare minor exceptions like the person who’s checking the tickets really dont care (even if they are -16 and alone), but legally thats what it is **(July 3)**.)

– (Despicable Me 4: Yeah this is gonna do real well. Great 3rd day of pre-sales **(July 6)**. Despicable Me 4 hits $42k in pre-sales for its opening day on the 12th. Already outpacing IO2 and not just in gross but also in screenings alocation at the same time **(July 5)**. Despicable Me 4 has started pre-sales today. It mostly matched IO2’s first day in both number and the ammount of screenings. In any case way to soo to read too much into it. This might have a good chance to become Holywood’s highest grossing post Covid animation. I’ve even seen ¥500M($68M) thrown around but realisticly ¥400M($55M) should be the target for now **(July 4)**.)

– Issac Newton (Inside Out 2 is supposedly releasing on August 1st in Japan. That’s a Thursday. They may be they doing that to take advantage of discounted tickets that happen on the first of the month. I think ¥5B is stressful. ¥4B is reasonable and ¥3B~¥3.5B likely Looking Competition – Inside Out opens 1 week ahead of Shin Chan — straight direct competition for screens against My Hero Academia 4 (Last Movie did ¥3.39B) **(June 19)**.)

– Carlangonz (Theaters setting up their programs for this weekend. In most of them is a mix of IO2-DM4-AQP throughout the day with some shows of Bad Boys. Maxxxine is opening in selected locations (probably will be around 500 or so) but only night shows. TBC but Cinemex has Deadpool & Wolverine listed as a Rated-C; is a bit suspicious considering prior Deadpool entries were B-15. However Logan was indeed Rated-C which definitely meant a huge blow for it and would be the same too for this one. Cinépolis hasn’t listed any rating so we’ll see on Thursday morning **(July 2)**.)
– Carlangonz (Deadpool & Wolverine: Pretty strong first day for Deadpool & Wolverine; excluding musical events (BTS, The Eras Tour) is perhaps the best since Multiverse of Madness: 8411/19378 – 43.4% occupancy. Sales for previews are already higher than GOTG3 previews and The Marvels opening day combined at T-0. 3.2x of Barbie’s first 30 hours. We’ll see later on how rating affects it but doesn’t feel like it would be as strong as if it would’ve released 7-10 years ago like Logan. | As for rating all chains but Cinepolis have it listed as Rated-C. Cinepolis only displays a warning that is a potential Rated-C and won’t refund or cancel previously purchased tickets. C Rating is a restrictive one and doesn’t allow anyone under 18 even accompanied by an adult and over 18 audience can be asked to prove it with an ID. Highest grosser with this rating in lc is Logan with $271M Pesos ($14.96M USD with current exchange rates) and in admissions is The Passion of Christ with 6.1M admissions **(July 4)**. Only a couple of theaters were tracked for Love and Thunder and Multiverse of Madness. Just checked and allocation atm is lower compared to those two. | Initial allocation from the sample is 17k+. Compared to other Wed night previews is higher than Fast X’s 16k and The Flash’s 12k **(July 3)**.)

– thajdikt (Deadpool and Wolverine has just started ticket sales and it´s getting a lot of screens. More than Doctor Strange did intially and on par with NWH. It´s also running from 10AM to 22PM in the IMAX which is quite unusual for them to set up unless the demand forces them. They are expecting a monster here. I´m not so sure. Let´s see how sales are **(June 17)**.)

– Flip (Deadpool 3 D1 (T-18) 10.6k. Doesn’t seem too great but it’s pretty far out **(July 5)**. Deadpool & Wolverine presales started, and it has a 19 age rating **(July 4)**.)
– Olive (DP1 and DP2 both were Age 19 too. The record for 19+ movies is held by local movie Inside Men(7.07M) **(July 4)**.)
