Has anyone outside the Balkans seen the movie Ko to tamo peva (Who's Singing Over There)? It's a masterpiece of dark comedy and satire, set on the eve of World War II in Yugoslavia, that follows a group of misfit characters on a chaotic bus ride to Belgrade. The film brilliantly captures the absurdity and unpredictability of life in the Balkans, with humor that mixes the tragic and the ridiculous. I'm from Serbia, so I can relate to these characters and situations, and while some of the cultural nuances might not come across as strongly in translation, there is an English-subtitled version of the movie on YouTube. I highly encourage you to check it out!

  1. I have seen it. It’s great. I can see how its considered one of the best Yugoslavian films ever made. I like to have a Blu-ray for this one tho.
