> The 5x Grammy winner’s manager Mo Elmasri admitted the Jackson previously spoke “based on misinformation” about the Democratic presidential nominee’s family and ethnicity during a recent interview with The Guardian.
> “She deeply respects Vice President Kamala Harris and her accomplishments as a Black and Indian woman. Janet apologizes for any confusion caused and acknowledges the importance of accurate representation in public discourse,” Elmasri told Buzzfeed in a statement. “We appreciate the opportunity to address this and will remain committed to promoting unity.”

See, that is what you do when you are wrong. Nice work Janet.

She saw the blowback from her comments and is doing damage control. A coworker of mine is a HUGE Janet fan, and when she saw the original comments, she was in crisis mode.

K but is she planning to reevaluate or show any skepticism toward her usual *sources* of information going forward? Now that trusting the voices she’s been trusting has made her very publicly look foolish?

What a bubble she must live in. Does she not know how much her brother was destroyed by the public for not being black enough due to his skin condition?

Honestly no excuse. You have the money, the resources, the notoriety and influence and yet you based on what you “heard.”

I think she just answered to the best of her ability, which was completely wrong, just shows celebrities not always know everything, but better to shut up instead of basing your knowledge on fake news.

Janet didn’t release any apology. Those were her manager’s remarks speaking on her behalf in a statement. Why? It would take no effort for the comments to be released as a statement by Janet, herself. Is having the apologetic remarks be attributed to her directly somehow beneath her? Poorly handled.

Maybe you should have thought about that before opening your mouth in the first place.

Aka she expressed an opinion, and twitter/this shithole being the open minded accepting place it is, bullied, ridiculed, and attacked her until she folded.

I’m hoping my wife doesn’t see what Janet said. She’ll be heartbroken

She was the only person in that family who seemed to understand her base, not anymore. She of all people should have known the ramifications of spreading misinformation. She’s done.

Okay I am going to come out and say it: *you can tell by looking at her that Harris is part black.*
Do we really need some other confirmation?

What a moron. Now is she hateful and wants to believe the worst no matter what, like most conservatives, or is she just incredibly stupid, and living in a bubble, and so stupid ON TOP of stupid that she’ll just spout nonsense about even important topics?

I’m trying to figure out why people give two fucks what some out of touch rich ass celebrity says or has an opinion on. Fuck Janet Jackson.
