I’ve been trying to think of what this reminds me of.
R.I.P.D. That’s what it reminds me of. If it does as well at the box office, taking inflation into account, it should make about $105.6M.

chris evans’ role feels so very clearly written as a ryan reynolds performance
as far as The Rock non franchise movies go, the studio’s goal is probably to get somewhere between Skyscraper and Rampage numbers. I think 150M worldwide – 250M worldwide is a reasonable prediction but more on the lower end. I just dont see overseas business helping that much.

It looks like a big budget streaming movie. By that I mean its an “original” movie with a big budget and cast and those movies don’t play in theaters. All big budget blockbuster movies we get in theaters are IP.
So, yeah this movie will bomb because its not IP.
Studios barely know how to sell IP movies to the general audience, they have zero idea how to sell an “original” anymore.

This miiiiiiight have a decent opening before getting creamed under Wicked, Moana, and Gladiator. You could argue the holidays might boost it but it could also be another Fred Claus situation.
