Does this movie really need to be split into two parts? The trailer for Wicked Part One seems to show all the major plot points of the story, and now it’s going to be same length as the entire play??

I haven’t seen the musical, but this feels like it could hurt it boxoffice wise. Yes movies with long runtimes have worked, but those movies are normally not PG movies, which are normally targeted at Families. But maybe I’m not getting the exact audience they are aiming for.

I’ve been using Live-Action Disney remakes like Maleficent and Cinderella and the little mermaid as comps but they don’t have this long as a runtime.

To add on, Venom 3 is 1 hr and 50 mins based on fandango which is close to the 1st movie runtime
