Ryan Murphy is a creator whose stuff I *should* really like. I love horror. I love the macabre. But his work tends to feel disingenuous. Like, here’s blood, here’s violence, here’s sex… are you excited yet? Grotesquerie had me interested, and the beginning had me pretty engaged, but by the time we get to the murder, it felt like it had gone too far.
I’ll check out the second episode, because I do think there was some quality shit in there, and I enjoyed the nun character, but I have a feeling I’ll be noping out of this one.

I liked the first season of Glee and The Politician, and that’s about it from him. Everything else I’ve seen was terrible.
