  1. Interesting as there is also a mistake here. Jordan should be Transjordan during this time period.

  2. That’s because Palestine is meant to be short for Mandatory Palestine, which is what the British government in Palestine established by the League of Nations was called. It wouldn’t make any sense for Raiders (set in the 1930s) to feature a map with Israel (not established until the late 40s).

  3. The movie takes place in the 1930s. Israel had not been declared yet, and the place was a British mandate.

  4. You might want to look up Mandatory Palestine, and probably the history of Palestine, while you’re in there. Now, I should add that, while Palestine is listed on the map, it is *not* a country, not unlike Greenland.

    So, basically I’m saying you’re wrong.

  5. The movie takes place in 1936. Israel wasn’t established as a country until 1948. This really isn’t an interesting detail.
