  1. Very surprised they cancelled. I thought it was very clever and ended first season saying I couldn’t wait for another season.

  2. I watched all of it, and thought it was pretty solid, but I’m not at all surprised they canceled it. It had Netflix is going to cancel this as soon as possible vibes to it.

  3. Other than Zeus, Hera and Prometheus, none of the characters were interesting to watch at all.

  4. I thought it was one of the most original shows on streaming in a long time. It was SO well done. Netflix are bloody morons for cancelling this.

But even when they’re talking about KAOS they’re not actually talking about KAOS, they’re talking about Netflix’s business practices. KAOS is the latest flashpoint (the first one I can remember off the top of my head was Teenage Bounty Hunters) for this specific discussion.

The show itself is secondary to the frustration and anger Netflix subscribers are venting over what they keep describing as more like a parasocial relationship with their streaming platform, one that leads them to voluntarily admit they don’t watch shows like KAOS because they’re afraid they’re going to get canceled. Most of these KAOS threads are just as full of people who say they WANTED to watch the show (they still can, and are still not doing it) but wouldn’t because of NETFLIX and their shitty practices, as they are of people who DID watch the show and tend to offer tweet-sized praise of it and that’s it.

If this show was the exact same show with the exact same creative team – but the exact same CAST as “End of the Fucking World” instead of Jeff Goldblum and Cliff Curtis, nobody would be talking. But because there’s a bunch of press photos these outlets can use that have Goldblum in them, this story’s got way more legs than it otherwise would, because KAOS’s cancellation is easily the most the show has been discussed by anyone since it premiered – and that discussion isn’t even really about KAOS. It’s about Netflix.

  6. I fucking loved it and sang its praises, but it’s not shocking it got cancelled. It was a weird niche ambitious show and Goldblum’s gotta be expensive.

Netflix is just trash now. Oh how the mighty have fallen. KAOS was so fucking good, jesus fucking christ.

  8. I just started watching but am busy in my life right now, so I can’t just drop other shows to watch one that appears out of nowhere on my Netflix homepage.

I think their approach is so strange that they drop shows on us and then announce they’re canceled 2 weeks later when everyone didn’t drop what they were doing to binge it all. I get they don’t green light everything for another season, but why not give it some time to decide. If it gets good word of mouth, you can renew, but knowing it’s canceled, new viewers aren’t going to invest. It’s not like they’re going to get a season a year anyways, so make the decision in 5 months!

It’s amazing, but I’m not going to to recommend that anyone watch a season of tv that ends in an unfulfilling cliffhanger
