Oh dear. Lest anyone forget–Finch didn’t just finch on Grey’s Anatomy. She also did the same thing while on Vampire Diaries. Other people wrote her scripts for her while she pretended to have cancer. Her colleagues bought her a life-sized stuffed bear among other many heartfelt gestures of support for her non-existent disease.
The real tragedy of this is that there really are people who suffer from cancer or have other terrible life-circumstances and Finch has likely made it harder for those people to receive the love and sympathy that they might need from their colleagues and bosses.
It’s a terrible thing to fraudulently use up the good will of others and increase cynicism in everyone.

I knew someone who faked cancer to people he knew. He used it to jump the queue for two Porsche Boxsters (when they were new and on back order for months). Kept one for himself and sold the other for a profit. It came crashing down for him when his girlfriend (a friend of mine) put two and two together.

There was a twitch streamer who played OSRS that faked cancer, she still has a loyal following (though smaller) and you get banned instantly & flamed if you mention the cancer thing.
