But I do get that there’s been a lot of hate and chatter online about Wicked, and maybe it was just a bridge too far.

I really don’t think the intent was to erase her in any way, I truly think it was to recreate the orignal wicked poster as accurately as possible. But if she feels uncomfortable with it, then okay. It’s her likeness after all, so she’s allowed to feel the way she feels. I just didn’t imagine it would be offensive

Ariana’s face is covered more by her hand in the edit and she’s currently a white woman so I really, really don’t think erasing her was the editor’s intention, even though there’s absolutely been a history of things like that. The edits better tbh 😅

I know she’s faced a lot of racism and strife due to her casting in this movie, and I’m sure it’s all been a lot for her. It’s pretty clear whoever made or edited this was just trying to change it to recreate the original poster. I see her side and I get her frustration, but they edited her and Ariana both to match the original, not just her because they have something against her or her casting.

the edit looks better – it looks like its just paying homage to the OG poster (and in the non edit pic it looks like shes pulling away and is too far away from Ariana in the edit it looks like shes listening to her whisper lol if that makes sense)
