Both companies already have a long existing relationship with Paramount, which often distributes Skydance movies.
With that, Skydance now has a perment distbutor going forward, and the historic Paramount lot likely ain’t be shut down by them either. As Sony was planning on doing that, and of course had Sony bought, it would make the big 5 into the big 4 and create a boat load of legal issues to get approved.
That said, sadly, there will likely be layoffs at both companies because of redundancies.
