When the detectives are interrogating Lee they ask if he is ambidextrous. He says no; growing up his teachers tried to make him, but he is in fact left handed. However, he wears his Zodiac watch on his left wrist, which shows he is more right handed than he says.

It’s never pointed out in the film, but knowing Fincher’s obsession I think it was intentional. [Here’s the scene](https://youtube.com/watch?v=DSuUJ-Scbeg&pp=ygUaem9kaWFjIGludGVycm9nYXRpb24gc2NlbmU%3D)

He lies throughout the movie and it’s interesting how the film it. I noticed this too when I first saw it and wondered if they were saying he definitely did it. Always made me wonder tbh

  2. Good detail, but all wristwatches are really designed for the left wrist. The dial is on the right side so you can adjust easily with the right hand. I always think its goofy seeing people put wrist watches on their right hands.

  3. According to this Reddit poll, most lefties wear on the right, but you read most comments and it’s because modern smart watches have settings to make it easier to wear on the right if you’re a lefty.

BUT, given the setting, lefty’s would still wear on the left wrist given the position of the crown on almost all men’s watches.

It might have been a tell, but even if it was, it’s easily explained.

Edit: didn’t link the effing poll… but https://www.reddit.com/r/southpaws/comments/ud3zin/lefties_which_wrist_do_you_wear_a_watch_on/
