  1. I can’t really even tell what the genre is to be honest. Looks alright though.

I know that most people don’t really care for an Agatha Harkness spinoff show, but I’m always down to see Kathryn Hahn ham it up, especially during Spooky Season.

The first 45 seconds confused the fuck out of me I was asking myself when did Agatha become some detective

This seems darker and more horror inspired than I expected.

I was kind of figuring it’d be a comedy with horror elements, but this teaser gives it more of a “horror with comedy elements” vibe. Of course, trailers aren’t always necessarily an accurate showing of the show, especially one with reality-bending magic users.

I think rebranding the Disney+ shows as “Marvel Television” is going to help dampen the ‘Marvel fatigue’ everyone has been feeling. Nothing about this screams “must-watch,” which I think is better for the brand honestly. Die-hard fans can tune in, whereas more casuals aren’t going to watch this and complain about “Marvel’s fall-off” because it’s not an event like an Iron Man movie would be.

  6. It looks like one of those second rate Netflix show, heavy on vibes, paper thin story with VFXs that go from okay to Disney Channel. I bet it’s a remanent of that crop of shows Iger called out recently.

  7. This looks like shit. But will fit right in with the last 5 years of marvel

    You know what? Sure.

I like when Marvel dips a toe into horror like with Werewolf By Night and Multiverse of Madness, I like gothic dramedy weirdness and this gives Wednesday/Sabrina vibes, and I *always* like Kathryn Hahn.

Still no idea what it’s actually going to be about beyond “Agatha’s back”, but at least it looks neat.

  9. i know the strikes happened and covid and whatever…but they really are 2 years to late with this tie in show.

A lot of people will call this show unnecessary but this is the show that will most likely open the doors to a Children’s Crusade adaptation with the Young Avengers which is focused on Wanda’s whereabouts. So I’m excited about it.

Didn’t care for Agatha much but I love Kathryn Hahn and according to Patti Lapone in that one interview this is a musical too so sure. Sign me up.

In May 2024, Marvel Studios revealed that its live-action Disney+ series would be released under a new “Marvel Television” banner, separate from the Marvel Television division, starting with Agatha All Along later in 2024. This was part of the studio’s desire to help indicate to audiences that they did not have to watch all of the studio’s projects to understand the overall story, and could choose which projects they wanted to follow.

  13. I’m all for Aubrey Plaza playing yet another demented character in a Marvel series.

  14. revolverzanbolt on

Show looks interesting, but that title is terrible. Have enough confidence in your creativity not to name your damn show after a meme. The song was a great scene in Wandavision, but the name makes no sense with what they seem to be marketing this as.

  15. The CW used to be the home for bad DC shows, but apparently Disney Marvel said “hold my beer”.

  16. TrapperJean on

Has Disney put out a bunch of mediocre-to-bad TV for Marvel? Yes

Would I watch a TV show about Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza playing crazy/devious witches no matter who was making it? Also yes

  17. As chaotic and bizarre on screen as the process of making this show has been offscreen. I don’t know what to make of that.

Either way, it still feels far, far too late for the pay off to a weird piece of covid pop-culture history that faded literally years ago now.

  18. I enjoyed Shang Chi. I enjoyed 3 Many Spidermans. I actually liked Moon Knight although it kind of meandered a bit for me to love it.

The movies making money at the box office are the reboots and sequels. That’ not going to change.

There is nothing wrong with superhero movies…they just need to be good. The formula is fine. The execution is the issue.
